The Lodge at Tyddyn Ucha is a small hot-tub lodge in the countryside between Caernarfon and the mountains, and it is one of those places where the dog-friendliness comes from the people rather than a policy sheet: the owners live in the main house next door, keep three dogs of their own including a pair of red labradors, and greet arriving guests (four-legged ones included) with a personal tour. For the dog itself the practical draw is the enclosed garden, which guests describe as secure and genuinely usable, with a spacious driveway and quiet surroundings. Inside, the lodge runs to comfortable beds with hotel-grade bedding, a log burner and everything a self-catering weekend needs; outside there's a barbecue and the covered private hot tub that most reviews rave about, well earned after a day on the hills.

Guests bringing dogs describe relaxed, welcoming stays, with the resident dogs a highlight rather than a problem, even for one visiting dog that spent the stay barking at them; the owners took it in stride. That said, if your dog is genuinely reactive around other dogs, the fact that friendly dogs (and chickens) live next door is the one thing to weigh up before booking, and it's worth a quick word with the property first.

Location-wise you're rurally placed but not remote: about fourteen minutes' drive from the Snowdon Ranger car park, with Caernarfon, Llanberis and the coast all close. Two smaller notes from reviews: the lodge sits right next to the owners' house, which nobody found intrusive but is worth knowing if total seclusion is the goal, and this particular lodge doesn't have a mountain view.

Best suited to couples or families whose dog enjoys canine company, who want a warm personal welcome, proper garden security and a hot tub at the end of each walking day.
