Pet-friendly summary
This holiday house on a quiet close in Tywyn is set up for the kind of trip where the dog goes everywhere with you. The Cardigan Bay beach is four or five minutes on foot, the town centre and shops are the same again, and the back garden is enclosed, so there is somewhere safe to let a dog out before bed.
The house itself is comfortable and well furnished, with room to spread out and a second downstairs sitting room. Guests arriving with dogs mention the space, and several have travelled with two dogs without feeling cramped.
Tywyn is a good dog town. The beach is a long flat stretch that dog owners have found easy going, the Talyllyn Railway runs from the edge of town up into the hills, and the local cinema lets dogs in with their owners - a rarity worth planning an evening around. Cadair Idris and the southern edge of Eryri are a short drive inland.
Two caveats. The back garden is enclosed but not proofed to puppy standard, and a small dog has found a way out through a boundary hedge, so a young or determined escapee needs watching. Arrival condition has also been inconsistent: most guests find the house spotless, but there have been reports of the lawn left uncut with dog mess on it, dust around the place, a slow-draining shower and a late key handover. Mattress comfort divides opinion.
