The practical side is handled better than most park lets. Bedding and towels are provided, so a car boot that would otherwise be full of linen has room for the dog's kit instead. There is central heating and a fireplace, which counts for a lot when you are drying a wet dog off in February, and the owners sort the site passes rather than leaving guests to work the system out on arrival. When something has gone wrong, the response has been quick and generous.
The setting suits a dog reasonably well. The plot is quiet and away from the busier parts of the park, with open space and the lakes for walks, and the veranda and decking give somewhere to sit while the dog settles. There is no enclosed garden, though, and the park requires dogs to be on a lead throughout, so this is a lead-on arrangement rather than a let-them-out-the-back one.
Two things are worth knowing. Guests have more than once arrived to a lingering dog smell in the soft furnishings, the blankets and sofa in particular, which is the trade-off in a van that genuinely takes dogs and is turned around quickly between stays. And the site facilities and entertainment run on passes that cost extra, so budget for those separately if the plan is more than a hot tub and a walk.
