How this review was built Evidence, sources, refresh cadence
- Evidence: 9 pet-mention guest reviews sourced from major booking platforms - guests who explicitly mentioned travelling with a dog. Each review is screened for pet-relevance, then judged for sentiment to compute the paw rating.
- Not a personal visit. We don't stay at every hotel we cover - we summarise patterns from real guest reviews, paraphrased and never quoted verbatim. Full standard on our editorial policy page.
- Wider context: The property has 45 guest reviews overall across booking platforms, averaging 9.6/10 - the paw rating reflects only the pet-mentioning subset.
- Last refreshed: July 2026. Policies and pricing drift; we re-check on a rolling basis. Confirm specifics with the property at the moment you book.
- How the paw rating works: Full detail on the methodology page, including the three verification gates and known limitations.
Pet-friendly summary
Number Seven is a comfortable whole-house holiday home on a quiet street in Hornsea, a short walk from the East Yorkshire coast and the town's Mere. It has become a firm favourite with dog owners, several of whom return year after year, and it is set up thoughtfully for a stress-free stay with a dog.
This is a properly dog-friendly home rather than one that merely tolerates pets. The standout feature guests mention again and again is the secure, dog-proof garden, an enclosed space where a dog can roam or potter safely off-lead. There are lovely extras too: a welcome basket for you and treats for the dog. Confirm the details when you book, but the welcome is wholehearted.
Inside, the house is clean, well-equipped and genuinely home-from-home, with comfortable beds and a powerful, much-praised shower. Private, allocated parking is a real bonus on a residential street, and there is plenty of space to spread out.
The setting works well: Hornsea's beach, the Mere, restaurants and shops are all within easy walking distance, so it suits days on the coast and easy evenings out with a dog in tow.
Only small things to note. There is no downstairs toilet, which is worth knowing if stairs are an issue, and one or two guests mentioned that a neighbour can be a little noisy. Neither dented how much dog-owning guests enjoyed their stays.
This suits a couple or family with a dog who want a comfortable, secure-garden base within walking distance of the Yorkshire coast, with proper parking and thoughtful touches. For a dog-friendly Hornsea stay, Number Seven is a lovely choice.
