It sleeps a big group, has a hot tub and a log burner, and takes dogs, which is a combination that is genuinely hard to find this close to the middle of a seaside town.

The whole-house format is what makes it work for dogs. There are no shared corridors, no reception to walk a wet dog through and no other guests' schedules to fit around, so a group can arrive late, come back sandy and let the dog settle without any of the friction a hotel introduces. Guests travelling with dogs describe bringing two along with six adults and still having room to spare, and the host is repeatedly described as quick and helpful over messages.

Two practical notes.
