The house sleeps a big group across several bedrooms, and the garden it sits in is unusually generous - the feature that earns its keep most reliably when there are dogs in the party.

Dogs are welcome here, and the property is set up for more than one. Groups have brought two families' worth of pets at once without difficulty, and arrivals are met with a welcome pack. The listing publishes no pet fee, weight limit or cap on numbers, so confirm all three with the owner when you book.

Beyond the garden, the draw is everything under the roof: a hot tub, a cinema room, a games room with pool and table tennis, and gym equipment. It is the kind of place a group books for a week in poor weather, which suits dog owners who want somewhere the humans can settle while the dogs have space. A pub and the beach are both within about fifteen minutes on foot, so the daily walk is easy.

Two things deserve flagging. Guests have found the interior tired in places, with several of the headline extras out of action on arrival - the hot tub among them - so treat the amenity list as aspirational rather than guaranteed. The lounge carpet has also drawn repeated complaints for smelling of dog urine. More seriously, a double booking has left a dog-owning family arriving at night to find the house already occupied and no alternative offered, which is a booking-process failure rather than a pet one but worth knowing before a long drive.

Best suited to larger groups travelling with dogs who want space and a garden over polish, and who will reconfirm the booking directly ahead of arrival.
