East Crinnis Log Cabin sits on a small, quiet site at Heronbank just outside Par, on the stretch of Cornish coast between St Austell and Fowey, and it is a good deal more thoughtful than the average dog-friendly let. Dogs are charged GBP 7.50 each per night, with up to two allowed per booking.
The site has its own pond with a walk around it, and that is the feature dog owners keep returning to: a proper loop on site means the last outing of the evening does not involve getting back in the car. Beyond the gate there are beaches and coast path within a short drive, and the Eden Project is close enough that a lot of guests use the cabin as a base for visiting it.
Inside, the cabin is warm and well insulated, which matters in Cornwall out of season - it holds heat well on the wet, windy days the county produces from autumn onwards, and there is plenty of hot water and a comfortable bed. It is clean, properly furnished and equipped for cooking, and the owners leave a genuinely generous welcome: scones and clotted cream, local cider, fresh milk and treats in the fridge. They come up repeatedly as friendly and helpful without being intrusive.
Two small caveats. The front terrace is heavily shaded by mature planting, which is good for privacy but means there is no sun on it, and guests wanting to sit out have moved chairs onto the side grass instead. And check-out is at 10am, which is early if you have a long drive home with a dog. Otherwise, with a 4.7/5 paw rating, this is one of the easier Cornwall options for a couple or small family with a dog or two.
