Cambois Beach Maisonette sits directly across the road from Cambois beach on the Northumberland coast, a long, quiet stretch of sand north of Blyth that is far more popular with dog walkers than with crowds. For a dog owner the location is the whole appeal: the walk from the front door to the sand takes under three minutes, and there is a cafe at the end of the street that guests report keeps their dogs supplied with sausages.
Dogs are welcomed without an extra charge, which guests bringing pets have noted approvingly, and the property manager is described as quick to answer questions. The maisonette itself is boldly decorated across two upper floors, with two good-sized bedrooms, and guests travelling with a dog have had comfortable stays here.
Two things deserve to be said plainly. First, cleanliness is inconsistent. It is the single recurring theme in the property's lower-scoring reviews, and more than one guest has arrived to find the place short of a proper turnaround clean, including dog hair left on soft furnishings from an earlier stay.
